History
Lacrosse is the oldest sport in North America, with its origin dating back to the 1400's. In the early 1900's lacrosse became recognized as a "force to be reckoned with". It was during this time that the game ws first played in Olympic competition, and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse League (USILL) was formed. In 1926, the USILL was replaced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, which is still the governing body of lacrosse today.

Glen (Pop) Warner, famed football coach, said, "Lacrosse is a developer of health and strength. It is a game that spectators rave over once they understand it".

The National Collegiate Athletic Association eventually took over the directing of intercollegiate lacrosse. The first NCAA Lacrosse Championship was held in 1971. With the support of the NCAA, the sport has continued to grow as more and more youngsters reenact this modern version of the Indian tribal game.

Stafford Lacrosse Association is a member of the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League which governs the spring youth lacrosse league. The youth spring league begins in late March and ends early June. The Stafford Lacrosse Association provides year round lacrosse activities throughout the summer, fall and winter seasons with lacrosse camps and tournaments. Club | Travel

Girls

Fredericksburg Field House offers indoor lacrosse leagues for many ages and levels of players year round. Please view their website for more information.

Leagues
Bones Lacrosse Summer League: is designed to allow Area Players to maintain & enhance their stick skills & lacrosse knowledge through game play throughout the summer months. The league is a game only league played once a week in the evening.

Camps
North Stafford Lacrosse Camp: runs from June 22-25th and June 29th- July 2. Camp will be from 5 to 7 each evening. Camp is open to boys and girls from elementary, and middle school, up to Juniors in high school. Campers younger than middle school age must be approved by Coach Donahoe. Campers will receive a reversible jersey. Prices will be announced as soon as the camp is approved by the school board. Please spread the word and bring your friends!

Bones Lacrosse Camp: will run from 9am to 2:30pm each day, Monday, June 29 to Thursday July 2 (Friday July 3 will be Make-Up Day for any days missed due to weather). Camp will be at Colonial Forge High School in Stafford County on the lacrosse team's practice field.

GameBreaker Lacrosse Camp: was developed to provide young athletes with an opportunity to become better lacrosse players with instruction from the best coaches and players in the game today. Our goal is to help you keep improving, no matter what your ability level, through great coaching and healthy competition..
